There’s a display window at one of the exits from the Grand Californian Hotel at the Disneyland Resort that is dedicated to Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings and the wanna-be bride in me will always stop to admire the gorgeous gowns. Have you seen this window? Swoon!
Having seen all the dresses myself, I have to tell you that these masterpieces are nothing short of stunning. Just last week, while dress shopping, I caught a glimpse of the Jasmine dress in the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings collection at Alfred Angelo. My goodness, it is beautiful. Included in the collection are bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses and bridal accessories.
It's every little girl's dream to look like a Disney Princess on her wedding day.
And now the dream can become reality, thanks to Disney’s Fairy Tales Weddings by Alfred Angelo - a collection of stunning Disney-inspired gowns.
Renowned wedding dress designer Angelo has come up with a series of gowns inspired by the most popular Disney Princesses - Ariel, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White and Tiana.
In addition, in Autumn/Winter 2011, the collection will extend to include one inspired by Cinderella and one by Rapunzel.
The wedding dresses are now available from over 65 bridal stores across the UK and Ireland and range in price from £599 to £1199.
Talking about the range, designer Michael Shettel said: 'Brides-to-be are head over heels in love with our newly-released Disney Fairy Tale Weddings bridal collection.
Beautiful: The Ariel dress is fitted around the top and hips before billowing into a full skirt
Exotic: The Jasmine dress is a slinky number with diamante embellishments
'Combining amazing design and charming storytelling with some Disney magic, we’re confident that we have created a truly enchanting collection.'
AndLiam Gallagher, Director of Fashion and Home for The Walt Disney Company UK and Ireland, added: 'All brides want to feel like a princess on their special day and we look forward to bringing a little Disney magic to weddings across the country with this new collection of stylish Disney Princess-inspired wedding gowns with Alfred Angelo.'
The dresses vary drastically in style according to the princess they were inspired by.
The newest: The dress inspired by Princess Tiana from The Princess And The Frog is one of the most beautiful
While Cinderella has a very full ball-gown style dress with a strapless top and sweetheart neckline, Jasmine has a dress slightly more exotic with a slinky feel and diamante embellishments.
Belle's dress from Beauty in the Beast was famously yellow in colour but the Alfred Angelo gown retains the style of the beautiful dress in a white and silver design.
And Ariel's dress boasts a fitted top going down across the waist and hips before spreading intoa fishtail design around the bottom.
Design stages: The sketches for the Cinderella dress and the detailed Rapunzel gown
Princess Tiana is the most recent of the Disney Princesses and made history by being the first black Disney princess of all time.
And Tiana's dress is one of the most exotic of the collection, with an asymmetric neckline, ruched top and layered tulle bottom.
Romantic and dreamy, this fitted bodice is adorned with delicate lace applique and handmade flowers. The ethereal tulle skirt of pick-ups and ruffles adds grace, whimsy and a heavenly charm that resonates the femininity and elegance of Aurora.
This classic tale is retold with a romantic taffeta gown featuring multiple layers of dreamy gossamer tulle, reminiscent of cascading briar rose petals. The re-embroidered lace and crystal beaded bodice with rose detail adds an elegant touch.
